The Rana George Lenormand - Anchor
Many of our members will be familiar with my favourite card in the Lenormand Deck, it is not because of the symbol on the card, the playing card insert or that it is my favourite artwork in a certain deck - no - so why is the Anchor Card my favourite card and what makes it so special in the Rana George Lenormand Deck? The 35. Anchor Card is my favourite card because of the techniques taken from the Game of Hope and still used today. In the Game of Hope, the Anchor Card is the aim of the game, the goal if you wish, the winning spot! When you arrive at the Anchor you have successfully navigated all the other cards in the deck and have landed first and reached your personal goal.
This technique has been used in Lenormand Readings and passed down through generations of German Readers, the Anchor is seen as the "End Goal" in a reading, when you lay your GT you find out what your End Goal is for the timeframe set by checking what card is sat in the House of Anchor - this is your Querent's goal for the GT - whether they will achieve this or not can be seen in the surrounding cards.
So now you understand my love of the Anchor Card and why it is so important in the Lenormand Deck, you will appreciate the depth of the Rana George Anchor Card and how it points to the "end goal" of your read. Before we take our first peak of the card please consider the following:
These amazing rocks are the Rouche Rocks, the Symbol of Beirut. A wonderful sight when flying and descending to land and a "coming home" to anybody returning to Beirut.
The Rouche Rocks are an integral piece of Rana George's heritage and also an amazing place she loves and remembers with fondness "I lived 10 minutes away from the Rouche Rocks, I used to see them everyday and they are very important to me". Rana laughs as she remembers that she once took a little boat with friends to try to go inside the rocks: "I couldn't make it cause I started to throw up on the side of the boat and made them go back!!" These rocks form an integral part of Rana George's life and it is only fitting that they appear in her Lenormand Deck, what is even more fitting is them taking pride of place on the 35. Anchor Card. The Rouche Rocks to Rana George are the End Goal, they symbolise who she is and where she comes from - she is the aim of her game and she encapsulates everything Rana, just like the Anchor card encapsulates everything Lenormand.
